If it's such a safety issue in schools, then let teachers carry one. Every student doesn't need a cellphone. Well, several of my teachers answer their cell phones during class (for example, my science teacher). We'll all just be doing our work, and we'll hear his phone go off. He'll answer it, and just start talking. It's not an emergency, but he does it anyway. So shouldn't kids be able to do this as well? Yes, every student doesn't need one, but take CRAZYDAWG's post for example. They're only getting their's taken away because they're taking it out during class. If you were smart, you'd just put it on silent, and keep it in your pocket. |

(Are we really debating about cell phones?  ) I am also in high school, and yeah, I've got a cell phone. I can understand where you're coming from in asking why everyone needs one, because the fact is, they don't. I have one because I've needed to stay after school before and haven't had anyway to contact my parents to let them know, so they got me one. Later on in life, it came in handy when my mom had a whole bunch of business to do on the phone, and I wanted to talk to my girlfriend. Personally, I think it's kind of dumb to have all these gaming and online extra junk on cell phones, because that isn't a cell phones purpose. And yeah, anyone who is stupid enough to have their cell phone out in a class where the teacher doesn't want them to, should have it taken away. |
